Schaeffler was Selected as Top 10 News of 2015 in Maschinen Markt

With the concept of “Machine Tool 4.0”, Schaeffler, the leading global integrated automotive and industrial supplier, was selected as Top 10 news of 2015 in Mas-chinen Markt.

Schaeffler worked with partners like Deckel Maho Pfronten to develop the concept of “Machine Tool 4.0”, collecting information from different technical processes to form big data based on sensors, network and data analysis, which is a great inno-vation for digitized production.
Schaeffler believes that bearding as a core part in machine tools can help sense and monitor the operations of host equipment. For “Machine Tool 4.0”, nearly all the processing-related bearings are integrated with sensors for measuring vibra-tion, force, temperature and power, so as to obtain the information of relevant ma-chines. After completion of updating “Machine Tool 4.0”, all the recorded data can be evaluated and stored for obtaining relevant countermeasures, and the cloud computing and data analysis technology can help create added values for clients.
Upon cooperation with DMG MORI, Schaeffler has developed two prototypes, of which one is used for the precision bearing production line of Schaeffler plant in H?chstadt, Germany, and another is on show at EMO Milano 2015.
