My name is Julianne McCartney. I've been an industry working professional for about seven years . I was drawn to the field of computer graphics because of my fascination with traditional animation when I was just a little Julie. Cartoons were fun to watch and once I realized how to make them I tried to find any programs that were available to me. It really didn't cross my mind to make this creative drive into a job until my first year of high school. "Do what you like and like what you do," my dad had always said to me. I did, and I haven't looked back.
I've worked in a generalist capacity for most of my career because of a drive to learn every part of the process. I enjoy being able to sit down and take a character and environment from concept to completion. It wasn't until last year that I rediscovered my love for the animation end of the process, and began to specify my skill set towards the goal of being an animator.
As for my skill set, I am proficient in the major 3d creative platforms of 3ds Max and Maya, and have worked with XSI, Modo. I also have experience with Mudbox, the Adobe Suite, Final Cut, and Nuke.
In my spare time, I also enjoy drawing and painting, martial arts, and learning languages.
